Inspiring you to be more grateful each day

Happy Tuesday! 🙂

I was watching the interview of Ed Sheeran with Ellen the other day.

I liked what he said…

“Music was my hobby. I did it everyday.
Then one day, I got paid for it. And it became a job.

Then when I had time off, I’d still do it.”

Music is Ed Sheeran’s flow.
It’s something he loves to do and he does best.
It’s something that makes him fully alive and that brings so much joy to people.

What is your flow?

Your flow is something you love to do, it’s where you excel, and it gives so much value to you and the people around you.

Mine are writing and speaking!
I feel so energized whenever I write and speak.

I love writing and speaking! The big bonus is I get paid for it!

Another flow of mine is anything that has to do with creativity.
I love acting on crazy ideas!

I love creating online summits, online courses, online events, and performing in, directing, and producing music videos!

Try Everything

If you’ve already found your flow, congratulations!

If you haven’t found it yet, follow what Shakira said in her song “Try Everything” from the movie Zootopia.

I wanna try everything
I wanna try even though I could fail

I won’t give up
No, I won’t give in till I reach the end
Then I’ll start again

Yep! Don’t be afraid to try things out.

Don’t be afraid to make mistakes.
Before I found my flow in writing and speaking, I also tried all sorts of things.

Once upon a time, I was so into reading books and learning from podcasts.
I devoured books. I read one or two books a week, consumed 3-4 hours of podcasts every single day, and attended 2-3 seminars each month!
I was in my learning mode!

These days, I don’t read as much anymore.
The books I read are mostly devotionals and the books of the graduates of The 90-Day Book Writing Challenge (books I need to write blurbs or Forewords for).

Once upon a time, I was always hustling.
I would work from 7:00 AM until 11:00 PM.

I didn’t have to push myself to do that. I really, really enjoyed hustling then.

Today, I work for about 2 hours a day on average.
I spend a lot of time lounging on the sofa, watching the clouds, doing gratitude walks, appreciating plants, watching funny videos, etc.
In Tagalog, I spend a lot of time for “tunganga” (doing nothing).

I like how my friend JC calls it, “creative pauses.”

Years ago, I was in my learning and hustling mode.

Today, I’m in my creativity mode.
The funny thing about being creative is… it is still hard work but for it to work, you need to relax. Hehe!

So I let myself relax and take lots of creative pauses.

And nope, I don’t push myself to hustle.
I understand that “being creative” is my flow these days and I follow my flow.

Following your flow gives you so much joy and peace!

If you haven’t found your flow yet. It’s okay. Try everything!

To inspire you, here’s my latest music video for you! It’s a music video cover of Shakira’s Try Everything.

When my friend Divine introduced the song Try Everything to me a few months ago, I identified with the song!
I love the song!

My favorite lines from the song are:

I’ll keep on making those new mistakes
I’ll keep on making them every day

I wanna try everything
I wanna try even though I could fail

Look how far you’ve come
You filled your heart with love
Baby, you’ve done enough
Take a deep breath

For this music video, we featured the following Boracay adventures:

  • Parasailing
  • Paraw Sailing
  • Paddle Boarding
  • Riding an ATV
  • Biking
  • Helmet Diving
  • Cliff Diving

The adventures are metaphors for trying “everything.”

Enjoy the view of beautiful Boracay when it was not yet crowded 🙂

Towards the end of the music video, we showed some behind the scenes snippets.
Sometimes, our expectation is way different from reality! ðŸ¤£ ðŸ¤£ ðŸ¤£

You can watch it here!

Enjoy!

Cheers,
Sha
