Inspiring you to be more grateful each day

Hope you had a beautiful weekend!
I’m writing this in Tagaytay.

Over the weekend, my family and I watched “Mission Impossible” and “Elemental.”
Highly recommended!!! (not sponsored, hehe)

I am sorry I wasn’t able to send TuesDate last week as I was traveling.

Let’s dive into our Story, Highlight, and call to Action for the week 🙂

STORY

Today, I’d like to share a little story about Taylor Swift.

I’m not really a big fan of Taylor but my 8-year-old Godson Geordan and his brothers are, and so are my little siblings. Over the weekend, I saw this viral photo of Taylor Swift on social media. She started small and look at where she is right now.

Millions of people virtually line up to buy tickets to her concerts and the tickets were sold in seconds.

On the first day of ticket sales, the Eras Tour sold an incredible 2.4 million tickets, breaking the record for the highest number of tickets sold by an artist in a single day, as reported by Ticketmaster on July 4, 2023.

Wow!!!

We may not be where Taylor Swift is right now, but we’ve all been where she was. Like many of us, she also started at the bottom.

Here’s the good news! Oftentimes, when we’re at our lowest, that’s when we learn to dream bigger.

I learned how to dream bigger when I was at my lowest point financially.

Over a decade ago, I only had 50 pesos in my wallet and that’s all I had.
I didn’t have money in the bank, no car, no house, no properties, no stocks investments.

At 12:00 NN, I walked from my office in Ayala Avenue to Buendia to pick up the money my Papa sent me via LBC so I can buy myself a decent lunch.

That’s when I learned how to dream.

I dreamed that on any given day, I can buy myself a decent lunch.
At any given week, I can tell myself, “Sha, where do you want to work next week? Tagaytay? Cebu? Singapore? Bali?”

Today, this is now my reality and even much better!

In March this year, my client flew me to the Maldives and booked me in a luxurious 5-star resort for a couple of days. I learned later on that the overnight stay there was much more expensive than the latest iPhone.

Last week, my client flew me to Cebu and booked me in a beautiful hotel so I can deliver a keynote at their sales conference. The professional fee they paid me was a beautiful icing on the cake. Thank you, dear client! Thank You, God!

I am grateful my rock bottom experience taught me how to dream.

HIGHLIGHT (Lesson)

“Dream bigger because dreams do come true.”

Call to ACTION

Do you have dreams?

If you don’t, it’s time to dream again.
Dream bigger!

Make those dreams come true.

I wish you fearless possibilities!

P.S.1 Years ago, I also dreamed to study at the Asian Institute of Management. It didn’t materialize then. Today, a better version of the dream came true. I was tapped as an adjunct faculty to develop and deliver a program that will help CEOs, C-suite leaders, and entrepreneurs speak well. The program will start on July 25. The sessions will be hybrid — virtual and in-person. You can find more information here.
You can enroll here.
