Inspiring you to be more grateful each day

Happy Tuesday,

I did something crazy while in Boracay.

It all started when I posted a video of myself playing with the waves and the caption was,

“When you’re in the beach but you don’t know how to swim”

I was just running around in the shores and playing with the waves because I didn’t know how to swim.

I was trying to “feel” the water and make myself get comfortable being in the water.

My singing coach Jerome commented and said, “Sing your heart out, Sha! The sea is an open stage”

Maybe I should make a music video!”I replied.

It was a crazy idea. I’ve never done anything like that before.

When I thought more about it, I told myself, “Yes! I think that’s a great idea! I’ll do it!”

So I asked around and I looked for excellent videographers in Boracay. My photographer (I also did a photoshoot while in Boracay, Hahaha!) recommended the team of Den.

The videographers’ record was doing one music video in one day.

“Can we do 3 music videos in 4 hours?” I asked.

I asked that because I only had 4 hours to spend for music videos while in Boracay.

So grateful the videographers were open to my suggestion. (I like working with people who are open to new ideas.)

To create 3 music videos in 4 hours was an ambitious goal.

Here’s the thing. I’m not afraid to make mistakes and fail.

While I want to achieve that goal, I know in my heart that the real purpose of the goal is not the goal itself, but the PURPOSE behind the goal.

What’s more important for me was to see how far my crazy ideas and CREATIVITY can fly, how much FUN we can have in the process, and how much professionalism and EXCELLENCE we can bring. Creativity, fun, and excellence are the real purposes behind my goal of creating 3 music videos in 4 hours.

Guess what?! We did 3 music videos in 4 hours and I was so impressed with our work!

Plus, it didn’t feel like work. I felt like we were just playing! 🙂 It was so much FUN!!!

The videographers were also surprised we did 3 videos in 4 hours!

I created a vlog to show you how we did it and what happened behind the scenes.

You can watch my latest YouTube vlog here

I hope this email and my latest vlog will inspire you to act on your ideas.

Don’t be afraid to make mistakes and fail.
Learn from the process.

Have fun!

If you make mistakes, you will learn.

If you fail, you’re getting closer and closer to getting it right.

If people will laugh at you, let them do so. That’s their journey. If you can laugh with them, go ahead. Hehe!

I’m rooting for you!

I wish you love, joy, and peace today and everyday! 🙂

P.S.1 The other day, I asked my singing coach.

“I want to sing this “particular” song. Do you think given enough time, guidance, and practice, I’d be able to sing the song around August or September?”

Note: The song is a VERY CHALLENGING and difficult song to sing.

I love how my coach replied.

He said, “There is no reason why you cannot sing that song. Your voice has so much untapped potential. You can sing it!”

He said that with 100% conviction and I believed him even if I couldn’t see yet how I’d be able to sing that song. I just know I can because someone who is so good at singing and at seeing a singer’s potential said so.

In the same way, I believe you have so much untapped potential. You’ll never know what you’re capable of doing unless you actually do it.

Be brave! Go for your dreams!

Here’s the video again.
