Inspiring you to be more grateful each day

Happy Wednesday!

I hope you’re having a great week.

I’ll make this email short.

Years ago, I felt so insecure when it comes to dancing.

I couldn’t dance and didn’t know how to dance.

I was an active member of Toastmasters then, and during conventions, there was an after-party dance.

As much as I loved to dance with my friends and fellow toastmasters, I was so insecure and aloof.

It didn’t help that some friends teased the way I would stand (I thought I was already dancing) on the dance floor. Hehe!

So I would stay in the corner and watch over the bags of my friends while they were dancing.

One day, I decided to face my dancing insecurity head on.

I enrolled in Douglas Nierras Powerdance.

I learned it’s not really about getting all the steps right.

It’s about feeling the beat and dancing to it without inhibitions.

Fast forward to earlier this year. There’s a song that spoke so strongly to me.

It’s called Permission to Dance by BTS.

The lyrics says,

We don’t need to worry

‘Cause when we fall, we know how to land

Don’t need to talk the talk, just walk the walk tonight

‘Cause we don’t need permission to dance

It became my favorite dance song in the morning.

I did a music video cover for Permission to Dance.

Here it is:

Time to let loose and dance like a child!

Like what BTS members say, we don’t need permission to dance!

P.S. Come to think of it, this does not only apply to dancing. This also applies to living your life the way you want to live it. This applies to going after your dreams. How many times have we denied our dreams for fear of failing or fear of being judged?

I’d love to hear from you. If you liked the video, please hit the like button on YouTube and share what you love about the video in the YouTube comments section. Thank you so much! :)
