Inspiring you to be more grateful each day

Happy Tuesday! πŸ™‚

How are you?
There was typhoon in the Philippines last Sunday.
I hope you are safe and dry.

I just got back from the U.S. and it feels so good to be home.

Last year, my friend has been telling me,
“Sha, come here. Visit your God daughter.”

She told me that during the height of the pandemic when I had no plans to travel abroad. Hehe!

When travel restrictions eased up, I said in my prayers,

“God, I’m considering traveling to the U.S. to play with my God daughter.”

What are the chances that the annual conference I wanted to attend in the U.S. was just a few minutes drive from my friend’s place!

Everything fell into place.

My two-year old God daughter is so cute and adorable. We played. We danced. We hugged each other.

My friend has been telling me that my God daughter Tey watched all my music videos and memorized most of the songs.

I was so surprised when my friend played my music videos and Tey sang along! She’s two! OMG!

So smart and musically inclined, just like Ninang. Hahaha!

Back to the conference….

A few weeks prior to the conference, I said,

“God, I think it would be nice if there’s a panel discussion. I’d be happy to be one of the panel speakers.”

A few days later, I received an email from the organizer saying,

“Sha, can we invite you to be one of the panel speakers?”

I said, “Yes!” of course! πŸ™‚

During the conference, I learned that they haven’t done panel discussions for a long, long time.

God heard my gentle whispers.
He listens to yours, too!

There were more than 400 conference participants, mostly from the U.S. and a few from other countries.

There were four speakers — three PhD holders and one priest, then there were 5 of us panel speakers plus a moderator.

I was delighted how appreciative the audience members were.

They were laughing at the stories I shared, I felt like we’ve been friends for a long time and we were just having a relaxing conversation.

After the panel, they approached me and shared beautiful comments.

Let me share some here because I want my heart to remember this moment.

β€œI love your talk! You were so funny! You cracked us up!”

β€œYour stories were very relatable. I thought you were describing me.”

β€œYou were comical, Sha!”

β€œThanks for being vulnerable. What you shared was something I felt, too.”

β€œYou made us laugh so hard. We really needed that.”

β€œYou were so joyful, positive, full of life.”

β€œThank you for inspiring me.”

β€‹β€œYour sashimi/ice cream story was hilarious!”

They remembered all the mini stories I injected during the panel discussion.

One of the comments that made me teary-eyed was,

β€œI love how you talk to God and I also want to talk to Him like that.”

The panel discussion was spontaneous. We didn’t rehearse. And it went really well.

I realized I’ve been training for this kind of conversation since I was a child.

I grew up with a loving Mama who loved listening to my stories.

We’d talk for at least two hours everyday from elementary to high school and she eagerly listened to every word I said.

The audience was like my Mama. Joyful, loving, appreciative, enthusiastic, great listener.

What are the gentle whispers of your heart?

You can share them with God. He listens.

Hope this short newsletter inspired you. πŸ™‚

I wish you a beautiful week ahead! πŸ™‚

Cheers,
Sha
