Inspiring you to be more grateful each day

Day 8 in Boracay

I’m greeting you all the way from sunny Boracay! 🙂

My friends and I did parasailing, helmet diving, island hopping, cliff diving (naks!), paddle boarding, and lots of other adventures.

There are so many stories and realizations I want to share with you from my Boracay adventures.

For now, let me share two key lessons so far.

Boracay Lesson #1: Celebrate your progress and little milestones.

On my Day 1 in Boracay, I just played with the waves because I didn’t know how to swim and I felt uncomfortable being in the water. Here’s a 15 seconds video from Day 1: https://www.instagram.com/p/CQR6Ci6HOoI/

While I was watching the video this morning, I was laughing so hard. I can’t help but say, “Awwww… Sha. Come here, let me hug you!” Hahaha!

Today is my Day 8 in Boracay and I’ve grown leaps and bounds in terms of my love and comfort being in the water. I no longer run from the waves. I face the waves and immerse myself in their presence. Haha!

This morning, I even paddled. Woohoo!

My milestones may seem insignificant and elementary to people who know how to swim. But for me, they are major milestones and I’m so happy and grateful! In fact, I’m taking myself to some fancy dinner later to celebrate 🙂

What little milestones are you celebrating this week? Remember, don’t look at other people’s milestones and compare with yours. Look at your own Before and Now. Did you progress? If yes, congratulations! That calls for a celebration! 🙂

Boracay Lesson #2: Allow God to pamper you through the people He sends you.

I’ve been feeling so pampered and loved here in Boracay.

On Day 1, we met our tour guide and he showed us some of the activities we can check out.

I wanted to do helmet diving and parasailing and my friend said she’ll accompany me if I really wanted to.

The old me would have said, “Awww, I’m shy. It’s okay. If you don’t want to, you don’t need to accompany me.”

Good thing I am better at receiving love now. So I told my friend, “Wow! Really? You’re so sweet! Yes, I want to. Thank you!”

I am now more open to receiving love.

After our girl bonding for 6 days, I extended my stay for a few more days for my “Me” time.

I moved to another hotel, and this hotel has superb customer service.

Let me describe how caring this hotel is.

Yesterday when I woke up, I went straight to the beach for my Morning Date with God. I didn’t bring any mat with me and I just sat on the sand.

Ben, a hotel staff, brought me a mat and put three clean towels on it. He even brought me water.

This morning, Ben again set up a mat for me in the beach and took care of my things while I was paddle boarding. When I got out of the water, he approached me with a clean towel. Then he carried my things and ushered me to the breakfast table. When I sat on the chair, Jony, another hotel staff, put a pillow for my back. Wow!

All the hotel staff are so friendly. For my photoshoot yesterday, they offered one clean room and two of the hotel staff were with me and assisted me. One carried my slippers and props, another helped me stand up, etc. They also gave me water in between photo shoots. Ben said, “Ma’am Sha, water. You must be thirsty.” How thoughtful.

I felt so pampered.

And yes, I love and enjoy being pampered. I super appreciate the hospitality of this hotel. I’ll do a full vlog featuring them (not a sponsored post) so when you come here in Boracay, you can check this out.

I see God’s hand in all the pampering I’m getting from my friends, the hotel staff, and the people around me. He is such a loving, sweet, romantic, gentle, thoughtful God. How sweet it is to be loved by Him! 🙂

God loves you so much and He is always looking after you. He pampers us through the beautiful nature and through the people He places in our lives.

We can relax with the knowledge that we are loved.

We can rest in that truth.

We are so loved by God. There is nothing we need to do to gain His love.

He freely gives it to us but He doesn’t push his love on us.

We have to learn how to receive His love.

I wish you love, joy, and peace today and everyday! 🙂

Cheers,

Sha
