Inspiring you to be more grateful each day

[Motivational Speaker] Yes, you can!

Happy Wednesday,

How are you today?

Yesterday, I posted a video in my social media accounts.

Someone commented, “Can I also sing, Sha?”

Exactly a year ago, we had the Global Authors Summit in Manila, Philippines. It was attended by over 400 authors and aspiring authors.

My fellow speakers from Singapore, Canada, India, and Malaysia also came over to speak at the summit.

Here’s a photo from that event.

During that event, I did something unexpected.

I sang! That was my first time to SING in public.

Though I loved to sing ever since I was a child, I was not a singer. In fact, I was tone deaf and I couldn’t carry a tune.

Everyone around me lovingly said, “Sha, please don’t sing. Just focus on writing or speaking.”

I believed them. Though I loved to sing, I decided to forget about singing.

Then one person heard me sing and said,

“Sha, you have a beautiful voice! You are born to sing!”

I almost fell off my chair and I wondered if we were listening to the same sound — my voice.

That person happened to be a singing coach who has trained thousands of singers and aspiring ones! His name is Jerome.

I made a decision to listen to him and allow him to speak words of encouragement to my fallen spirit, at least when it comes to singing.

Two months before the Global Authors Summit, I flew to Samar, Philippines to be trained by my coach. His style was unique. We trained in front of the beach and in a resort.

He made me sing in front of the waves. He made me sing in front of his theater class. He made me sing in front of his business colleagues. He made me sing in the middle of a crowded resort. Hahaha!

On that momentous day of November 17, 2019, I had my first singing debut. I sang a 90s song “I Can” popularized by Donna Cruz.

Here’s the song:

Is there something you’ve been wanting to do but you’re wondering whether you can?

Maybe you’re asking the following questions:

Can I quit my job so I can pursue my real passion?

Can I put up my own business?

Can I write a book?

Can I sing?

Can I speak in public?

Can I make my passion my profession?

Can I be happy?

Can I be free?

Can I love?

Can I feel loved?

Can I succeed in my business?

Can I succeed in my profession?

You only need to believe in yourself. If you don’t believe in yourself yet, find someone who believes in you in the same way my singing coach believed in me when I didn’t believe in my singing capabilities yet.

I’m rooting for you! 🙂

I wish you love, joy, and peace!
